The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible." ~ Winston Churchill
April has been a very difficult month, but it was Winston Churchill who said: "If you're going through hell, keep going!" ... so that's what I have done - one halting footstep at a time.
Darkness stayed with me for many days, but as I moved forward I began to find what I needed: strength, hope, wisdom and friendship:
And with that came gratitude:
"Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy and change ordinary opportunities into blessings..." ~ William Arthur Ward
And then a couple of days ago I saw this remarkable story:WOMAN CONQUERS CANCER, EVEREST [watch video here]
Sharon Cohrs was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 36 years of age but went on to conquer cancer and Mount Everest as well. "I wish I never had cancer but for me, it's given me a second chance at life." Sharon also said something that hit me right between the eyes: "I believe in me so much."
It dawned on me that I've been given a second chance at life too. A second chance to believe in me! What matters is right here and right now, so I'm pacing myself ... taking manageable bites, focusing on the positive as I go along and expressing gratitude.
